The Mile High Type Club
This is my giant letter A that I created out of roles of green display paper. It is taken from the font 'Broadway BT' and I have accurately represented it on a large scale. The A is 156 inches tall and this measures to 3.9624 metres. I drew this letter in my sketch book to begin with that measured at 6.5 inches tall, so I times that by 24 to get the measurements for the large A. I chose to times it by 24 because the A that I drew in my sketch book had a width of 2 inches of the thickest section of the A, and the roll of paper that I had was 48 inches wide. So this meant I could times 2 by 24 to make it fit. I used my mother in the shot of this picture so that you can scale just how big the A is in comparison.

Justin Bieber, No Fear
For this brief I chose to use Facebook to help me. As my status I wrote: Right guys - For my graphics class I am doing a project about JUSTIN BIEBER. If anyone would like to contribute, then please leave a comment with ur thoughts (any thoughts at all) of BIEBER himself here: thanking you xxx. I got about 19 comments from this status and about 97% of the people wrote something negative about Justin Bieber. I think Bieber is like marmite, you either hate him or love him.

The Silhouettes
For the 'Anarchy in the UK' project brief I created a concept band called 'The Silhouettes'. This is a band of four members who wear facial masks at all times and plain black suits. I had the idea of keeping their identity hidden because I wanted the band to concentrate on the music and spread their music to others without people being able to pre judge them by what they are wearing. The importance with this band lies within the music rather than image. It will also keep audiences guessing about the identity of the band members; the Gorillaz had four band members who were fictional characters, and even when they performed live they would have screens of the characters rather than actual people so no one knew what they looked like.
For the artwork I have used my own font for the title of the band that I created on Photoshop in a dark navy colour. I kept the navy as a colour theme in the poster and the 7 inch single. For these I have made an image of musical waves in white and bright blue - I decided to use this so that it would communicate 'music' to the audience. Otherwise the mask almost communicated 'theatre' to me, which I didn't want. I have used a lighting effect because it looks like it silhouettes the dark letters of the typeface.
For the 12 inch cover and the Tape Cassette I have changed the style so that they didnt all look exactly the same. I came across the cream colour background by dimming down the brightness of an image of a record that I drew in my sketch book. I like that it had a vintage feel about it.
I think this band has been influenced slightly by the Black Eyed Peas as I like this group and I have chosen a similar genre of music for The Silhouettes, which is alternative hip-hop mixed with dance.
