Egg!

For the egg project, I decided to take a commercial route as I thought it wouldn't be the most obvious choice given that we had to make a project about an egg. I found that there is a nightclub in London called Egg so I decided to re-design their logo. I used an egg shape to form the top half of each of the letters, luckily each letter worked well with this. I chose to use a deep purple colour because to me this represents luxury to show that this is a good night club. I then added the lighting effects to look like strobe lights, which are visual references to the club. I like that the word egg is not obviously legible at first because it's difficult to make the word 'Egg' look good for the title of a nightclub, but I think I have worked around that to make a good logo.

Two Thousand And When

Creating this rocket ship was quite fun to do; I only used products that I found in my room including the paints so it was a low budget make too (although I think that is obvious). I used a loo roll, some cardboard, one sheet of paper, a water bottle and acrylic paint. Once I had made my rocket ship I photographed it and loaded it on photoshop where I added the background and flame effect. In the group crit people did mention that it did look cheaply made, and perhaps I could have researched real rocket ships so that I could have based the look around that. But still, I had fun making this and I hadn't made a rocket ship ever before!

Holiday Havoc

This is my response to the holiday havoc brief. For the first time I gambled; I did an accumilator for football. I also went on new years day with my boyfriend as there was football matches on that day. I was really glad that I did because I also won with one of my lists! My winnings were about twenty three pounds and I had paid one pound, so it was a very successful bet. In my design I have tried to encorporate all the elements including the actual printed list. I made it quite busy to give it excitement with big red exclamation marks. I like this design and I think the colours work well together too.

Too Much Tolkien Two

This is my re-design of the classic novel To Kill A Mocking Bird. I wanted to keep quite a classic style to my re-design because I don't think that it would suit a modern and abstract front cover as it wouldn't be in keeping with the essence of the book. I found an image of a mockingbird on the internet and I drew a copy of it in pencil. There were many things that I could have chosen to draw because there is so much that happens in this book but I couldn't chose which part was more significant than the others. Instead I just kept it simple by drawing the bird.
